There is a line between DE&I making feel comfortable and like enabling people to talk about gangbang’s at work.
Christopher Rufo is doing everything he can to blur the difference, but like everyone should be able to talk about their family outing at the water cooler at work, no matter who that family is, and in reverse, no one should be able to talk about their sexual escapades at work, regardless if it’s a gangbang or very traditional missionary sex with the intention of having a child.
I have my doubts that is a real driver of elections.
I do think there's a very vocal group of folks terrified of basic biology. It fit's the "religious" aspects of the GoP where they don't want kids to even be taught about sex and so on.
I could support the LGBTQ community and simultaneously say that not taking this issue seriously is one of the dumbest things they’re dying on; and that nothing is so damaging to the movement currently.
You can also see this in the upcoming generation, which actually has declining acceptance, not growing acceptance.
That you believe there are "bounds" that transgender people have "overstepped" suggests you don't believe transgender identity is legitimate. You seem to believe transwomen are men pretending to be women, and that their participation in womens' sports is inherently unfair to "real" women.
This is a transphobic point of view. You cannot support the transgender community while believing in biological gender imperatives.
If that is the case, let me make it clear then: I don't support the transgender community, according to their preferred definition of support.
I support their rights to maintain a general secular employment, protection under the law from undue discrimination, and protection from physical violence. I do not support them in forcing people who believe in biological genders to conform to their will; and I never will.
Even if you disagree with transgender athletes playing in leagues of their identified gender, it seems bizarre to spend so much time focusing on this.
The NCAA president testified before Congress there are fewer than 10 transgender athletes in an organization that represents 510,000 college athletes.
I'm sure at the professional level it's even fewer.
How much time do right wing politicians spend on this topic? An inordinate amount. It's identity politics through and through, in my opinion a distraction to the fact that their economic positions like billionaire tax cuts are extremely unpopular.
But I'm skeptical this is an issue. In the same way that Joe Rogan and conservative media decided to start saying schools letting children use litter boxes in school was a big problem, which was also not true.
How many biological males are there in women's sports? Not many.
How many high schoolers currently identify as LGBTQ? About 25%.
Odds that at least one of your competitors in gym looks like a biological male? Very high.
How does that make you feel? Angry that this could even be possible.
(There's also the issue that many people disagree on principle - in other words, any number greater than 0, is an absurdity. It does not matter how low it is, and I have to agree with at least the ideological consistency of that position.)

Why are right wingers so obsessed with other people's genitals?
Fear it seems.
Yes, the Left has known this for decades, right? That's why they affix "phobia" to every traditional sentiment they don't like.
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Well, don't be too hard on yourself. A lot of folks struggle with reading comprehension.

You know the "T" in "LGBTQ" stands for "transgender," right?
There's a word for people who "support the LGBTQ community without the T," it's "terfs," or just "transphobes."
You can support the T, while simultaneously saying they are overstepping their bounds and making a strategic mistake.
Supporting the T doesn’t mean doing everything the T wants, more than any other letter.

You clearly haven’t stepped in a high school post-COVID.
I have not.
